Home Remedies for Yeast infections

Home Remedies for Yeast Infections a Spaloo Bidet

Yeast infections are a common occurrence in women both young and old. While in some cases a doctor’s visit is in order, there are a few home remedies for yeast infections that can prevent or treat the infection. Of course there are several over-the counter medications available at the local pharmacy. However, if these common products do not successfully treat the infection, it is time to visit your physician for a stronger, prescription based solution.

Before we talk about home remedies for yeast infections, let’s discuss the root cause and identifying symptoms. A yeast infection is the growth of a fungus commonly known as Candida. It usually develops when there is an increase in the quantity of yeast compared to the normal levels of bacteria. This may occur after taking an antibiotic, using scented soaps, fluctuation of sugar levels in diabetics, or even the effects of pregnancy. The major symptoms of a yeast infection are itching, a burning sensation, and discharge during urination, and possibly even pain during intercourse.

Prevention and Treatment for Yeast Infections

Breathable Underwear: Avoid wearing tight fitting clothing and wear breathable underwear such as cotton. Change out of your bathing suit right away. Trapping in heat and moisture increases the likelihood of a yeast infection.
Diet: Eating a healthy, balanced, diet can be beneficial. Include fruits, whole grains, nonfat dairy products, and vegetables in your daily diet. Drinking unsweetened cranberry juice may acidify normal vaginal secretions which can stop the yeast from developing. Garlic is also known to have antifungal properties.
Diabetes Management: Monitoring and controlling your blood sugar levels can reduce your risk of developing a yeast infection.
Eliminate Perfumed Soaps: Avoid using perfumed soaps, powders, and sprays, as these can upset the normal balance of organisms inside your vagina.
Wiping Front to Back: After you use the toilet always wipe from front to back so you don’t spread bacteria towards the urinary tract.
Spaloo Bidet: Proper sanitation is one of the best methods for preventing the onset of a yeast infection. One of the most practical home remedies for yeast infections and prevention is the installation and use of a Spaloo Bidet. By cleansing yourself with a bidet after you use the toilet you will be clean and fresh. The Spaloo Bidet will rinse away any bacteria and eliminate toilet paper remnants that would otherwise be a breeding ground for yeast.
